symphonic_tempest 04-08-07, 01:56 AM	Strategy help? Ok, so our DM has given us a chance to earn our fare to the next place our quest takes us by fighting. He's had a magical arena set up in this town when we got there, and I suspect he jacked up the transportation price so that we'd fight in his arena. Should be really fun. IMPORTANT: Because the arena is magical, nothing we "use" is actually used. So any potions, spells, item charges, anything, basically resets like it was never used once we leave the arena. This is basically our DM saying "Go crazy." The only hitch is, he probably won't give us breathing room to buff up after we get in the arena and before the fight. Here's what we know: The opponents: Pixie (class unknown), centaur (archer), ogre (fighter-melee type). He says they're maxed out to deal damage, and they tend to go treasure hunting in a nearby region where magic doesn't work, so I'm guessing a lot of their attacks will be nonmagical. They also make a pretty penny in this arena though, so they're just maxed out to *hurt* things in general. Our team (all level 15): Estragon Pactsworn - Binder Zoltan von Schattenwind - Rogue/assassin/probly blackguard and shadowdancer, but won't tell us. Eleniel - Druid Alsana - weretiger monk (huge LA to match her ridiculous AC) Strategy? What I've got so far involves buffing up like crazy: the monk's AC so she can go toe-to-toe with the ogre, etc etc etc. I think I have a potion of fly so that Zoltan can go death attack the pixie, but other than that we should probably find a way to get it out of the air. The one I haven't been able to think of a solution for yet is the archer (I hate ranged attackers). Ideas, guys? Should be a really fun fight, as we can basically unload any of our consumables conscience-free.
Deathmond 04-08-07, 02:20 AM	get a way for the archer to see past the pixie's always-on greater invisibility. Let him go to town on it. Oh, and since you know what their races are, look up any racial abilities (such as the pixie's cold iron DR) and make sure someone can overcome them
