| mouser2705-24-07, 11:59 AM | I was just wondering what are some tricks to get around the Fortification enhancement for armor that is in the DMG. More specifically moderate and heavy. |
| Garonak05-24-07, 12:02 PM | Anti-magic field |
| mouser2705-24-07, 12:05 PM | I had figured on anti-magic fields/targeted dispell magics for suppression, but i don't use them too often. Would something like brilliant energy weapons also bypass the fortifications? |

| Someone05-24-07, 12:48 PM | Houserule moderate and heavy fortification to 50% and 75%, respectively. |
| Krusk05-24-07, 01:12 PM | brilliant energy, by logic you would think it passes through the fortification, but by RAW i believe it does not. i quite possibly am wrong. |
| Kouk05-24-07, 05:05 PM | How about Heat Metal and force him to take it off or get cooked? Or attack at night when they are sleeping without armor. Or have an NPC come up to the player and offer to "clean his armor for him" and that it will "be back by tomorrow". |
| starfire31105-24-07, 05:20 PM | 1st RAW brilliant energy does not get around fortification 2nd I have houseruled the heck out of fortification. Light fort gives +3 to AC vs Crits/SA Medium gives +9 to AC vs crits/SA Heavy gives +15 to AC vs crits/SA this means that for a SA to work they must beat the targets AC by the listed amount or they do normal damage on it, if it is a hit. And for a crit, they add the listed bonus to their AC vs confirmations. |
