Heres the deal,

I have looked through every D7D book I own trying to find the hardness and HP of the PHB armors. I found a table in the 3.5 DMG but it only lists weapons. for the armor variant I'm working on for my group i need a hardness for the types of armor. The system is kin to the system released in Unearthed Arcana, where armor work to stop a blow from connecting and as a DR, for example
leather armor gives an armor bonus of +1 and a DR of 1/-
Hide armor gives an armor bonus of +2 and a DR of 1/-
Full plate armor gives an armor bonus of +4 and a DR of 4/-
I like the comcept but i feel the DR should reflect the power of trying to stab a short sword through the steel used in the armor, and therefore must damage the armor as well, and overcome the hardness of the steel. on the same line of thought a warhammer, which can dent Full plate armor, should ignore some of the DR (hardnes) of the armor. I would like some feed back as to the like or dislike of this idea.

Also I looked at a book called the Magic Item Conpendium in a book store a while back and noticed a system in the book that allowed for the creation of weapons that used stones to provide magical enhancements to the weapon, (i hate to use the reference) very much like the Socketed items in Diablo II. As the store is in Dallas and I'm 70 miles away in a town where Wal-mart is the big "shopping mall", could some one refresh my memory and post the rules for them here?

thanx
