Armor made from DragonHide [Archive] - Wizards Community

01-20-06, 06:02 AM I have looked up and read upon armor made of Dragonhide,
but am at a loss as to what real benefit it provides other than
a badge of honor in slaying a dragon.
It seems to be fairly good armor, but what advantages do you
get with it?

Am I missing something? :confused:

01-20-06, 06:41 AM You can wear it if you're a druid, it's invulnerable to the energy type of the dragon it came from, and if it's made with the Dragoncrafter feat, it grants you energy resistance 5 against the appropriate energy type.

nah, it does pop every so often ...

to get back to the original poster, you could also come up with some house rules to improve the armor (kind of like enchanting it, but no spellcaster involved)

*warning, just ideas/house rules follows*
Extras:
1. Resistance 2 (if multiple resistances)
2. Resistance 5
3. Mobility (one category lighter for movement/spec abilities)
4. Armor check Penalty (additional -1 ACP beyond MW)
5. Max Dex Bonus (additional +1)
6. AC Bonus (additional +1, may be taken multiple times)
7. Lightness (armor weights half as much as standard armor)
8. DR 1/- (stacks w/ optional heavy DR or adamantine)
9. Spell Casting (-15 % A.S.F.)

Number of Extras based on size of Dragon:
Colossal (7), Gargantuan (6), Huge (5), Large (4), Medium (3), Small (2), Tiny (1)

I have my own mods to DC and creation cost and overall price ...
