Acheron 09-04-05, 01:12 PM	My friend and i recently got into a dispute on armor materials and style. My freind wants elven half-half plate. Now elven half-plate is just normal half-plate made out of mithril. No his arguement was that the discription onl said that the rings were made out of mithril :thinks: . Now is that saying that just the rings are mithril, and the plates aren't? or is it saying that the whole thing has been mithriled, which is what I think.... Now I wanted to have a chain shirt made out of Sussilian chainweave, and make it mithril. He said that Suslian Chainweave is a material because it was listed under "New Armor Materails" which I think is BS, but thats me... So which is it? He won't listen to me so I thought that I should get this on the boards to figure which is which.... I really need this answered, so...yeah....
kalstrand 09-04-05, 02:48 PM	Sussilian Chainweave is indeed a special material found in the Complete Warrior therfore you can't have Mithril Sussilian Chainweave.
Rulebook 09-04-05, 03:10 PM	well you COULD make a Sussilian Chainweave shirt into mithril... you'd just have a plain ol' mithril chain shirt then though. same as if you subbed mithril for any othe metal.
Acheron 09-04-05, 05:48 PM	Well, in the CW it says that susialian chainweave is a style of weaving chain know only to the greatest elf smiths, ect., ect., ect. My friend still wants to have "Mithril Elven Half-Plate" armor. Still looking for comments on this one...

Super_Demolition_Christ 09-04-05, 08:49 PM	If you want Mythril Armor it has to be Armor that is basically all metal(exculding the padding underneath). It is all Mythril other wise its just half plate plates over a Mythril chain shirt or Mythril Chainmail. If he wants the full benefits of the Mythril armor, it has to all be Mythril. The only exeption is if those special rings are made with it, the ones I think in the "arms and equipment" , rings that are put here and there on chainmail(not all the rings, maybe everyother) these rings increase your Ac for the purpose of critical hits only Anyways, It has to all by Mythril. Something cant be two materials. Tell him to get normal Half plate, or Mythril Half Plate, and just get a mythril chain shirt to sleep in
Acheron 09-05-05, 11:23 AM	Thats what I tried telling him a few days ago, but he would not listen to me then. But I don't know if he will now that its on the message boards.... Susilain Chainweave I can see is a very debateable topic ;). I still think that you can have Mythril Susialian Chainweave....
WaterRabbit 09-05-05, 09:26 PM	Except for double weapons, a particular object can be made of only one special material It think that should answer your question. Susalian Chainweve is a special material; Mithral is a special material.
Acheron 09-11-05, 05:03 PM	awww man :surrender . ok, then so both of the questions can be answered with no's? 1. Can Elven Half-plate be made out of mithril? and 2. Can you have a Mithril Suslian Chainweave item? dangit, oh well it was worth a try...
