| cvla Wolf10-30-07, 11:08 AM | I need some advices about this property i created for my games. Weapon breaking If an attacker tries to hit a target wearing an armor with this property and misses by a number equal or lesser than the armor bonus (the enhancement bonus of the armor is not counted), then he is subjected to a sunder attack without attack of opportunity; the armor is considered a two-handed weapon of the same size of the creature who is wearing it. If the attacker fails the opposed roll, the weapon suffers a damage equal to the Str modifier of the attacker + the dice(s) of damage that the weapon deal; special damages (like elemental damages) or attacks (like poison) are not counted. The weapon can be damaged only if its enhancement bonus is equal or lesser than the enhancement bonus of the armor. If the attack is made with an unarmed attack or a natural weapon, there isn't a sunder attempt but the damage above mentioned is suffered directly by the attacker as subdual damage. Example: John is wearing a +1 half plate of weapon breaking and has Dexterity 13, so is AC is 19; Tony has Str 14 and tries to hit him with a +1 flaming longsword, missing by 5 points: John wins the opposed roll, so Tony's sword suffers 1d8 + 1 damages. If Tony have had a +2 sword, it didn't suffered any damage; if he missed by 8 or more points, the sunder attack would not be provoked. Bob the wizard tries to deliver a shocking grasp to John hitting him with a punch: he misses by 7 points, so he suffer 1d3 subdual damages. This property could only be applied to Medium or Heavy armors; it counts as a +1 bonus. Thank you |
