OK. I'm kind of curious. Armor Spikes. Is there a "minimum" area they need to be on to be effective? I'm trying to remember the PHB picture, and it seems to mainly have pointy shoulders. Nice effect, but....I figure, "minimum" there's stuff on the shoulders, knees, elbows, chest, and maybe back. Does it matter?
Also, (and I kinda feel stupid for asking) what is the minimum category of armor that can have spikes? In other words, can studded leather have spikes?
And could some kind of sharp ridges and such fill the "spike" roll; in other words, no difference to paper stats, but looks different?
And finally (and yes, I know I've strayed a bit, but this is the initial post, and it's my post, so there), if I had armor spikes, would they do auto damage if I was swallowed whole? Or would I have to make an attack? Or would that even work?
This will be good future reference.

Armor spikes can look like anything, and go on any armor. You need to make a grapple check or attack roll to deal damage with armor spikes. Being swallowed doesn't do it.
