Me thinks that would do way more than the 1d4(or 1d6, cant remember) damage it states in the PHB. And what if the person spread their legs and arms on purpose to rake down the creatues throat even more? |

Would make sense that the thing would have to make a saving throw of some sort not to take damage in the process of swallowing you but I'd be surprised if there is some sort of official rule for that. |

That's a good way for that person to get arms and legs snapped off by big teeth. Think about it; anything big enough to swallow you is big enough to take some large chunks out of your hide. |

| masterofmayhem10-01-04, 06:32 PM | What creature doesn't? ;) Actually, aren't there some worm thingies that do? And I was thinking more along the lines of being in the mouth. My mistake. |

Maybe i'm missing something, but: A swallowed creature is considered to be grappled, while the creature that did the swallowing is not You can't TWF while Grappled. |
| Thomar_of_Uointer10-02-04, 12:43 AM | Armor Spikes are made for grappling. They let you fight armed whenever you're in a situation that prevents you from using your main weapon (whatever that might be). As such, they're about as good as a knife if you're being swallowed. |

| carnivore10-02-04, 10:56 AM | in the Underdark book there is the "Starver " armor enhancement+2 bonus this causes 2d6 slashing to anyone who grapples or swallows someone wearing this armor. |
| Morka10-02-04, 06:06 PM | In my last game, my barbarian was swallowed by a Tyranosaurus Rex. Fortunately, he was wearing a Spiked armor. Unfortunately, it was a Fiendish Tyranosaurus Rex, and the spikes weren't magical. So my spikes were useless. The good thing is while my 100 HP barbarian was grappling with the beast, that beast was unable to attack my friends. So my mighty barbarian was merely a distraction for this fight! |
