Armor-based speed reduction for unusual creatures [Archive] - Wizards Community

11-01-04, 06:39 AM I was just thinking, if I make a fullplate for my warhorse and equip it (for record, in middle ages, it was rather standard an approach used by knights), how heavy speed penalties would it suffer? Would it suffer normal Armor Check Penalties?

11-01-04, 06:44 AM Full Plate for a warhorse would count as heavy armour as usual, it would apply the normal full plate penalties (max dex etc) and its movement modification would be as per the "Armor and Encumbrance for Other Base Speeds" table which you should find under the carrying capacity table in the PHB. For a base speed of 50ft the reduced speed would be 35ft.
