A creature with flying is restricted to non-heavy armors. Can someone point me to the right page, or cite the rule here please, so I can gain a better understanding of this :)

You can check it out here (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/specialAbilities.htm#fly) in the SRD. Don't have my books with me, but it'll be in either the DMG or MM (forget which, possibly stuff in both). Check the index.

Also flying creatures are restricted to light armor, not only non heavy armor.

Not quite correct. Medium armour is allowed, if the weight limit remains within the creature's light load.

A creature with a fly speed can move through the air at the indicated speed if carrying no more than a light load. (Note that medium armor does not necessarily constitute a medium load.)

That doesn't mean that creatures can fly in medium armor. It just says that madium armor is no medium load.

Barding, Medium Creature and Large Creature

Barding is a type of armor that covers the head, neck, chest, body, and possibly legs of a horse or other mount. Barding made of medium or heavy armor provides better protection than light barding, but at the expense of speed. Barding can be made of any of the armor types found on Table: Armor and Shields.

Flying mounts can’t fly in medium or heavy barding.

Also the flying feats in Races of Dragon say the same. No flying in medium armor mount or not.

That however, specificaly mention MOUNTS. So, it won't affect a character with fly

Except that the Races of Dragon feats are not for mounts but for characters and mention the same restriction.

And I have not found anything which says that mounts behave differently then characters so unless you find something you can fly only in light armor.

From Races of the Wild: A raptorian cannot glide or fly while carrying a medium or heavy load.

between that and what it says the SRD, we ruled that Hide armor was okay for flying in, provided you had a light load (they have the worst maneuverability ever anyways, fly like crap for <con mod> rounds).

Not by the rules, but it still seems fair.

Heh. Between your evidence and mine, don't we have a nice little contradiction? Gotta love 'em

Just get your Flying mounts the equivalent of Mithril Breastplate or Chain Barding. It is Light armor, will not slow them down and gives a nice AC boost.

If your rich enough you can enchant it to +5 and even throw a permanent Feather Fall on it for when they get wounded too much.

People have gotten the idea it's my mount who's supposed to have an armor :P but it's not. It's a flying character, a savage species Astral Deva :)
