Can armour be resized for characters? I know magic is OK and it normally resizes automatically. But what about mundane armour? I have already ruled that turning one size armour into a larger size cant be done (doesnt make sense to me for example to turn a small mithril BP into a large one). I also have no issue with the players melting down whatever they have and using the raw material for something else.

But what about turnin a M sized mithril BP into a small size one for a gnome?

Thanks.

I don't believe there are any rules regarding this but seeing as you have no problem with them melting down for raw materials I would rule that they would have to melt down the M sized armor and have it reforged into a small one. Or they could try having it reduced magically but that could cost even more than the former method.

If the DM felt like being simple, he could say that the cost of resizing armor is equal to half the suit of armor's market price, thereby making it the exact same cost as selling the old suit and buying a new one (assuming selling a Small suit of armor and buying a Medium suit).

This is probably something I'd do if one of my players asked about it.

I think that resizing concerns only fitting an armor for specific person. I mean, resize armor found on the body of a human paladin (kidding) to fit your dwarven ranger. And also I think that even magical armor suites (excemp for some flexible ones) do need individual fitting, too. I can hardly imagine that an elf warrior and goliath barbarian (both Medium!) can wear same +1 adamantine (well, pretty inflexible material, IMHO) without penalties... And it is even harder for me to inagine how Gnome and Hill Giant are going to wear damn same set of armor! I would rule that heavy armor (at least heavy!) need resizing for a half price of mundane armor. And I would not allow to use or resize (save for melting for raw materials and forging anew. As well as enhancing anew) armor of wrong size. That is to wierd to imagine. Can't handle that, my brain is melting down. No, simply no way at all. Please tell me you was kidding too.

There are already rules for resizing fullplate to the individual wearer (2d4x100 gold pieces), so I think you could use that as a guildeline for resizing armour to a different size category.
