| Eliza_Stormwhisper07-16-05, 09:10 PM | I'm pretty sure of this, I just wanted an outside source to confirm. Is the A&EG a 3.0 book? |
| SALDAR07-16-05, 09:15 PM | Yes, it is. Even so, since 3.5 is just a revision, it does not mean that A&E is obsolete. You can simply apply the revised rules to those aspects that have changed. |
| katarl07-17-05, 07:58 AM | A+E guide is 3.0 but its rules do differ quite dramatically do 3.5, so it might well be obsolete in some ways. It has fullblades in it, stacking with monkey grip, can it be anything but ridiculous? The magic items are strange, with rules for putting feats into items and such. Rules for mundane stuff is good though. |
| Gonbow07-17-05, 01:25 PM | Basically, the vast majority of the Arms and Equipment guide was reprinted in Complete Adventurer. Not all of it though. So feel free to comb through it for nifty wonderous magic items and such, I'd say, but on the whole part, the crunchy bits should probably be kept away from. (See: Fullblades). Though I wish they would reprint the bits about Whips... Always thought those were cool. |
| MJ the Prophet07-17-05, 02:04 PM | I find it most useful for the weapon and armor enhancements, especially playing an artificer. The party ninja loves Bane Blind. |
| Thalis07-17-05, 02:24 PM | like everyone else said, fullblades would need to be toned down a bit to be useable. also note the changes in mercurial weapons in a&eg as apposed to sword and fist if a PC wants one. other then that, the book is pretty much useable with out a hitch. |
| Vahenir07-17-05, 05:44 PM | Yeeep... The newer Arms & Equipment Guide is a 3.0 book. But keep in mind that there was a 2nd Edition book also called the Arms & Equipment Guide (and was VASTLY superior to the new one). |
