When using an Arrow of Cure ___ Wounds, do you gain any special bonuses to the amount cured from other sources, say for instance, Weapon Specialization, or Weapon enhancements of the Bow?

You know, an arrow of healing makes me wonder...
"Sir, I got the healing arrow to him in time, Sir! - How does he feel, private? - "Sir, it healed him for 10 hitpoints, shot him for 15, sir!"

We interpreted that a spell-arrow becomes the spell effect (positive energy bolt, lightning, darkness, whatever) once it is fired. Hence...no dmg on target. This works for for and against you in the cases where you'd like to do arrow damage to an enemy plus whatever nasty effect you have on the arrow...it's only the spell effect that takes place.

I would go with Vatras's interpretation. Full arrow damage results, then spell takes effect. I would say the shooter could choose to forgo any skill/feat/class bonuses he has on damage - weapon spec, snaek attack, skirmish, etc.

The bonuses on the curing are based entirely on the caster level of the effect.

Hmm, alrighty. I think I do agree with Llathos, however, I can see both working too. I've always ruled that characters can 'hold back' from doing a certain amount of damage, though I sort of prefer the "bolt of positive energy" theory.

Thanks all!

in a LARP i played in.. there is a bow that heals.. you shout the name of your target then you let the arrow fly. It heals on impact.

For a touch spell, does the arrow only have to make a ranged touch attack?
So if you use a dummy arrow (designed to inflict as little injury as possible) and your target knows what your doing and doesn't try to dodge, would the arrow of Cure ___ Wounds take effect even if it hit the armor?

Also, could you make a called shot (I'm not arguing for nor against them right now, just listen) to cure a specific wound, like a damaged hand that is causing to-hit penalties or something like that?
