What is the price of a plain old standard arrow? The Player's Handbook says:

Arrows (20) 1 gp

Is that "1 gp per arrow" or is that "20 arrows for 1 gp"?

Continuing along this line of questioning

How much are +1 or +2 arrows?

I know a set of arrows are 20 gp. The price for a +1 weapon is 2000 gp and for +2 it is 8000gp

So does that make a set of 20 +1 arrows 2,020?

And on those same charts it says the price to enhance a set of 50 arrows is 350 gp.

So I am a bit confused as to how to come up with a price for +1 and +2 arrows.

If someone could help me out on this pricing formula I would be grateful. Thanks

In theory yes a set of +1 arrows would indeed cost that much, which is why it is completely pointless not to mention stupid and ill advised to do so. Instead buy a +1 or +2 bow which will then effectively make all your arrows have that enhancement. same as how a Flamming Longbow does fire damage with its arrows it imparts its abilities on its ammunition. all of this is in the DMG under magical weapons.

i agree.

it is really crazy to waste money on magical arrows. just pump it all into your bow, and if you insist on gettin non-standard arrows, then get some adamantite or silver, or cold iron ones.

i hate the fact that magical arrows/magical bows dont stack

Purchase a +5 bow. Purchase arrows that are +1 with any variety of enchantments on them.

When fired, they function as +5 arrows of (enchantment). This is typically more cost-effective than simply fully enchanting your bow. (This is especially effective with Bane arrows, they work out to 160 gp each.)
