Ok, so it just costs too much to buy +1 arrows or better frequently. What if you made an arrow enhancement that allows for

1) the arrow not to be destroyed on impact
2) the arrow magically appears in your quiver before your next turn

what would be the price on something like that? (a +2 modifier, instead of returning's +1?)

Just an idea...

Each arrow should then be counted as an individual magic weapon. So its 2000gp per +1 arrow rather than 2000gp for 50. Otherwise it is unbalanced.

However as the enhancement bonus of the bow is conferred into the projectiles for hit/damage AND damage reduction purposes there really is no need for anything higher than +1 for arrows to allow other weapon enchantments (put the +'s on the bow) and have normal, silver and adamantine arrows and +1 arrows with alignment/material specific properties to get through DR.

I can just imagine going around with a quiver full of Arrows of Greater Slaying, each one keyed to a different creature...

That would be really expensive, especially if you have multiple attacks. This is what I did for my Ranger, so I did not run out of arrows.

Quiver of Neverending Arrows, acts as a normal quiver except that everytime an arrow is removed another standard arrow appears in its place.
moderate transmutation; CL 9th; fabricate; Market Price 8,000gp.

I think Arrows of returning need to be put under the "Weapons most likley to kill their user" post.

The recent Dragon Magazine (#328) has a Quiver of Plenty which basically produces a limetless supply of various types of masterwork arrows. This includes: wooden, steel-tipped, alchemical silver, and cold iron. Also you can create a limited number of adamantine arrows per day. They can only be used for shooting and dissapate after hitting any solid object.

Also (taken from a WotC FR Web Article http://www.wizards.com/leaving.asp?url=http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=books/fr/lonedrowstats&origin= ):

Quiver of Anariel: Quivers of Anariel appear to be typical arrow containers capable of holding a score of arrows. However, the quivers automatically replenish themselves with standard or magical arrows, such that they are always full. Some quivers also create arrows made of special materials, such as adamantine, cold iron, or alchemical silver.

Once an arrow it taken from the quiver, it must be used within 1 round or it vanishes.

Moderate conjuration; CL 7th; Craft Wondrous Item, magic weapon, minor creation; Price 28,000 gp (standard arrows), 29,000 gp (masterwork arrows), 32,000 gp (+1 arrows), 44,000 gp (+2 arrows), 64,000 gp (+3 arrows), 92,000 gp (+4 arrows), 128,000 gp (+5 arrows); Add an additional +6,000 gp for adamantine arrows, +4,005 gp for cold iron arrows, or +200 gp for alchemical silver arrows; Weight 1 lb.

Yeah, that quiver was just about the thing I was looking for. Something that would give me an infinite supply of +5 arrows. Thanks.

Perhaps I am not understanding the situation properly, but what about using a magic longbow/shortbow (whatever ranged weapon you require). E.g. +5 Longbow.
From what I understand from the DMG (and SRD), the enhancement bonus to attack and damage rolls applies to the ammunition (but does not stack with the same bonus, but overlapping bonuses works. ie: +5 bow with unholy arrows yield a +5 evil-aligned attack via arrow.).
The cost for a +5 magic weapon is 50,000gp (+ weapon cost of course).

From the SRD, MagicItemsII:
Ranged Weapons and Ammunition: The enhancement bonus from a ranged weapon does not stack with the enhancement bonus from ammunition. Only the higher of the two enhancement bonuses applies.
Ammunition fired from a projectile weapon with an enhancement bonus of +1 or higher is treated as a magic weapon for the purpose of overcoming damage reduction. Similarly, ammunition fired from a projectile weapon with an alignment gains the alignment of that projectile weapon (in addition to any alignment it may already have).

raido.

Yep, but the effects of +5 arrows & +5 bow would not stack in regards to chance to hit + damage bonus. Only the better of the enhancements is used in that case.
The only time you would bother using magic arrows would be if you wanted a special effect/magic arrow (which would require a +1 enhancement first).

On the other hand, a bandoleer that produced infinite magical thrown weapons might be highly useful.

There's another way to gain an infinite supply of magical arrows: Arcane Archer.

By 9th level AA, all your arrows are +5, and you can invest in a +1 Distance Merciful Holy Speed Flaming Burst Dragon Bane Composite Longbow! ;)

There is such a thing as an Everfull quiver. Believe it is in the Book of Eldritch Might, Also a ring called the Ring of Devlin in there you just pull your bow bak and it ais automaticly loaded(the ring creates the arrow). Then there is the Quiver of Ehlonna in the DMG
