| Anssearch04-14-06, 01:32 PM | Hi little question: I got a lvl 10 ranger with manyshot and improved rapid shot and want to know whether I can fire arrows on more than one target when doing a full attack with 3 arrows? can I split them so that arrow 1 goes to goblin 1, arrow 2 on goblin 2 and so on,or is there a limit to the number of creatures, i.e. not more than 2 , no matter how many attacks per round? or does it depend on how close the two targets are to each other or is it generally not possible to shoot at more than 1 target? second question: is there something equivalent to power attack for archers? thanks a lot in advance |

From what I remmber, improved rapidshot allows you to make an additional attack with projectiles, after the ones you're allowed from BAB and rapidshot, as part of a fullround action. Thus, you would not benefit from rapid shot, or improved rapidshot for that matter, if you're using the manyshot feat. |
| Venator04-14-06, 01:47 PM | you can split up arrows (target multiple guys) while using rapid shot. im not 100% sure if you can split up arrows or not when using many shot. I want to say that you cant though. For power attack with archers youve got to pick up three lvls in Peerless Archer PrC, it comes in the form of a special ability called Power Shot. Its in one of the Faerun books, not sure which (3.0). |

The attack is at your highest base attack bonus, but each attack you make in that round (the extra one and the normal ones) takes a -2 penalty. You must use the full attack action to use this feat. Manyshot As a standard action, you may fire two arrows at a single opponent within 30 feet. Both arrows use the same attack roll (with a -4 penalty) to determine success and deal damage normally (but see Special). As ShinQuickMan said, you can't combine rapid shot & manyshot. I may have used rapid shot's text (improved rapid shot isn't in the SRD), but the same rules apply AFAIK. Also, you definitely cannot attack multiple targets when using manyshot. Attacking multiple targets is what rapid shot is for. |
