| Rurik "The Silent"05-22-05, 01:47 PM | I'll get straight to bussiness. I have an assassin character that wants to make a weapon able to slay its trget or at least force a save or die on each hit. I want it to be a melee weapon. Dagger to be spacific. So i was trying to base it off of the Bow of Solars, on page 102 or Arms and Equiptment. Its a +2 mighty (+5) composite long bow made for large characters. Everytime the person fires the bow they can change the creature type and it fires slaying arrows of that creature type. Its costs 100,100gp. My delimea is that how do i get this ability on a dagger. Essentially every hit is forcing a DC 20 save or die. Or if i can't get that how much would it cost to have a weapon cast finger of death upon striking? basically the same thing. Please help me out. Thx |

| Dalthbar05-22-05, 11:46 PM | I mentioned this in another thread, but weapons that require targets to make saves every single attack have the ability to seriously slow down game play. Granted your aim is to one-hit-kill all of your targets (and I guess if your DM is happy with that, then go right ahead), but if you have someone that has high saves, they could be making rolls every single attack. This can add up fast - especially in the hands of fighter characters (and moreso when they are hasted). It's just a concern to look out for. Initial impressions are "a few rolls won't hurt anything", but trust me - they can add up fast. |

Those 8 extra saves arent gonna make the difference when you're throwing all those sneak attacks :) Besides, the DM throws the saves, and the player throws the attacks, this can happen concurrently without slowing down gameplay. |

So if i wanted it to be +1 returning with the finger of death it would be +1 returning finger of death dagger DC 20 (10 + 7 spell level + 3 Cha minimum 17) for 190k? |
