This seems like a fun little dagger to give an assassin.... but I was looking for maybe an explanation as to why it adds +1 to the dc... and if it'd be possible for you to enchant it to give +5 to the dc of the death attack (I remember there was an item called Ki Straps in Sword and Fist that adds +5 dc to a a stunning fist attack so why not this?) My other question is, how would you determine the cost? I saw that it uses Slay Living, but I have no clue how to possibly figure out the cost of a dagger that give +5 to an assassin's Death Attack DC.

Hmm... well, breaking down the weapon we get:

18,302
-2gp for Dagger
-300gp for Masterwork costs
-8000gp for +2 Enhancement Bonus

That leaves a base estimated price of 10,000gp for the Enhancement to the Death attack. If your DM would allow you spend more to increase the bonus to DC, it should follow the general guidelindes of [Bonus Squared x (Ammount)]

In this case:

+1 DC = 1 x 1 x 10,000 = 10,000gp
+2 DC = 2 x 2 x 10,000 = 40,000gp
+3 DC = 3 x 3 x 10,000 = 90,000gp, etc.

Of course, this is all academic. You'd have to talk to your DM to see if he or she would allow you to make a modification of this sort as changing specific weapons is always difficult to do since they often have abilities that fall well outside the guidelines of normal equipment...

The above poster makes a good point. BUT...

Note that 18 000 gp is also the price for a +3 weapon. While the death attack could be treated as a 10 000 gp bonus, it could also be treated as an enhancement like Keen or Merciful - bumping up the cost as if the weapon had an enhancement bonus of one higher.

Thusly, an Assassin's Dagger that provided a +5 bonus to DC would, under the above scenario, cost equal to a +7 dagger - 98 302 gp. Of course, you can drop that to 72 302 if you give it only a +1 to hit and damage. Not cheap.

The DC bonus is nothing but a scam either way. It's only worth it for NPCs.

Hmm... a point... however, usually increases to specific abilities are not tied to market price modifiers(Ki Strike notwithstanding).

Personally, though, I'd make it more like the Fortification system... ie: +1DC = +1 weapon cost, +2 DC = +3 weapon cost, +3 DC = +5 Weapon cost, thus making increases of +4 or more to the DC solely in the realm of Epic weapons.
