| nighttree06-04-07, 10:46 PM | Could someone PLEASE explain (step by step) how to resolve a "miss chance"..(as in 20%) ??? |
| TygerTyger06-04-07, 10:59 PM | From the SRD: Concealment Miss Chance Concealment gives the subject of a successful attack a 20% chance that the attacker missed because of the concealment. If the attacker hits, the defender must make a miss chance percentile roll to avoid being struck. Multiple concealment conditions do not stack. Step One: Attacker rolls to hit. If they hit, proceed to step two. Step Two: Defender rolls percentile. If they roll 20% or less, attack misses. 21% or above, attack hits. Repeat as necessary. |

Repeat as necessary. Or switch it around, in case there are lots more modifiers to take into consideration with determining your attack rolls and such it would be easier to see if you miss before rolling to hit. At the table, make sure you (and all the other people) know if you are rolling that 1-20 is a miss, or if 80-100 is a miss. Some people prefer doing it different ways, and if you don't establish it in advance it is like you can take the whichever is more beneficial at the moment. |
| JadeSpider964306-05-07, 07:13 AM | and for speed just roll a d20 and a d10 together, a quick glance that either roll comes up an obvious miss can save a lot of time if this comes up a lot. |

That's what I do. I also often roll damage along with the attack roll. Or if multiple attacks, I'll use different colored d20's all at once, one for each attack. But yes, make sure you specify what range your using. 1-20 or 81-100. |
| Goreg Skullcrusher06-05-07, 12:08 PM | You could do it like we do and just roll a separate d20. A roll of 1-4 is a miss, 5-20 hits. |
