| Pliskit07-01-05, 08:05 PM | For some reason, until a discussion arose mid-game very recently, we ruled that characters attacking a foe grappling with another party-member, got a 50% chance to hit the foe, and 50% to hit the friend. Now I canīt seem to find this rule back, neither in 3.0 nor in 3.5 regulations. To be more precise, the discussion came up when the ranger of our party tried to apply the Precise Shot feat in a situation where a summoned brown bear was grappling an undead nasty guy. The Precise Shot feat appeared to be ruling away the -4 attack you get while aiming on meleeing combattants and said nothing about grappling situations or 50/50 chances. Neither did the grappling rules. Can anyone point me to the rules concerning this matter, or if these do not exist, can you tell me how YOUR DM rules situations like this? |

Note however the ranger will automatically attack the target he's aiming for if he has 11 levels in ranger, or otherwise has the Improved Precise Shot feat. |
