| RedArch71206-24-07, 06:49 AM | I've been looking all over the place for this but I can't seem to find an exact answer. Basically, if one hero is grappling with an enemy (in the same square) and another hero wants to attack the enemy with a melee attack, what is the penalty applied to the melee attack? Also, i know that a ranged attack randomly hits one of them, but what's the modifier for the ranged attack? Same questions for when an enemy is pinned: modifier for a melee attack from another party member? modifier for a ranged attack? Thanks if anyone could help me out a bit. |

Depending on whether you believe PH pg 157 or table 8-6 on PH pg 151, the target could suffer: (1) -4 AC and loss of Dex to AC (from pg 156-157). (2) -4 AC (melee only) plus effective Dex 0 plus loss of Dex to AC (pg 151). (3) As #2, but -4 AC against both ranged and melee (combining both). According to PH pg 153, the effective Dex applies to "helpless" defenders, which PH pg 157 explicitly says you are not. PH pg 157 also doesn't even hint at Dex 0 (it only says that you're not helpless) and applies the AC modifier unconditionally. Then again, PH pg 156 doesn't mention the random targetting for ranged attacks either. |
