| LGMoses12-29-06, 10:15 PM | PC 1 wants to attack Orc 1 who is in a grapple with PC 2. He attacks with his sword. Are there any special rules that apply? Is there a chance that he hits his friend? what all applies? |
| jaelis12-29-06, 10:38 PM | There's no chance to hit his ally. The orc is denied his dexterity bonus. That's about it, unless the grapplers are also prone, in which case the orc takes a -4 penalty to AC. If the orc is pinned, he takes a -4 penalty to AC and his Dex mod is treated as -5. |
| Steevo12-29-06, 11:06 PM | There's a 50/50 chance of hitting PC 2 if PC 1 were attacking with a ranged weapon, unless I'm gravely mistaken. Melee weapons function normally. In fact, as jaelis pointed out, the orc is denied his dex bonus because he's in a grapple, so PC 1 is actually at an advantage. |
