10-31-05, 08:49 PM When a player attacks with the spell Invisibility on them, the spell says " the subject attacks directly, however, it immediately becomes visible along with all its gear."

However will the player the get the benifit of being invisible for their first attack?

Assuming that the attacker is considered visible for their first attack would the person being attacked be considered flat-flooted to that person? Would they be flat-flooted for the whole round?

10-31-05, 09:14 PM I do believe they are flat-footed that whole round because you just appear then commence beating on them before they know what happens. It might just be the first attack though, I'm not totally sure, but its at least the first attack for a fact.

Flat-footed is a condition that occurs before you have had a chance to act in battle (and also while you are balancing). It denies you Dex to AC and you can't make AoOs.

Losing Dex to AC occurs whenever you cannot react to an attack. This happens if you are flat-footed, helpless, attacked by an unseen attacker, climbing, feinted, grappling, or a variety of other effects or situations. Some things that deny Dex to AC do it globally (eg flat-footed, helpless) while others apply to a single attacker or even single attack (invisible attacker, feinted).

If you attack someone while invisible (as per the 2nd level spell), they are denied Dex to AC. However, you also immediately become visible and are not considered invisible for any further attacks made that round. If your target is denied Dex to AC for another reason (such as being flat-footed) then that penalty will still apply.
