Are there any special attack modifiers besides the Owlbear being denied it's Dex bonus? Also, if you use a ranged weapon to attack an enemy that's grappling your buddy, are there any special conditions besides the -4 for firing into a melee (would they also get +4 to their AC due to cover?) |
| baalzamon99912-19-05, 09:55 AM | Well, there is also a flat 25% chance that you will accidentally hit the other grappler. I may be wrong, but it's my pet monkey's turn to control my brain today. |

| Soulburn8412-19-05, 10:32 AM | I know the 25% to hit the other target (in this example your Buddy) is for ranged attacks only, but I think they only lose their dex bonus for melee attacks. |

Where in the books (which book, page etc) is the 25% rule. A grappler only loses his Dex bonus against enemies he/she isn't grappling. |
| Inigo Carmine12-19-05, 10:44 AM | It's actually a 50% chance to hit either opponent when using a ranged weapon. No chance of hitting the wrong person with a melee attack. From the SRD (http://geocities.com/sovelior/srd/combatModifiers.html) Roll randomly to see which grappling combatant you strike. That defender loses any Dexterity bonus to AC. |
