| shadow mage06-13-06, 06:16 PM | Maybe I'm overlooking or it hasn't been plainly stated by core sources, but are alotted Attacks of Opportunity equal to the character's Dexterity modifier or the Dexterity permitted by said character's Maximum Dexterity Bonus? Insight is much appreciated. -Shadow Mage |
| Silverthumb12806-13-06, 06:20 PM | The Maximum Dexterity Modifier, limited by armor, only applies to AC. You'd use your full Dex mod. Assumingt, of course, you have Combat Reflexes. :D |
| filistimo06-13-06, 06:24 PM | The maximumnumber of Attacks of Opportunity is one. Unless, of course, you have the Combat Reflexes feat. From D20srd.com: Combat Reflexes [General] Benefit You may make a number of additional attacks of opportunity equal to your Dexterity bonus. With this feat, you may also make attacks of opportunity while flat-footed. Normal A character without this feat can make only one attack of opportunity per round and can’t make attacks of opportunity while flat-footed. Special The Combat Reflexes feat does not allow a rogue to use her opportunist ability more than once per round. A fighter may select Combat Reflexes as one of his fighter bonus feats. A monk may select Combat Reflexes as a bonus feat at 2nd level. |
| shadow mage06-13-06, 06:34 PM | Mmm. To confirm Silverthumb... Maximum Dex Bonus: This number is the maximum Dexterity bonus to AC that this type of armor allows. Heavier armors limit mobility, reducing the wearer’s ability to dodge blows. This restriction doesn’t affect any other Dexterity-related abilities. Even if a character’s Dexterity bonus to AC drops to 0 because of armor, this situation does not count as losing a Dexterity bonus to AC. Your character’s encumbrance (the amount of gear he or she carries) may also restrict the maximum Dexterity bonus that can be applied to his or her Armor Class. Bolded is my emphasis. Silverthumb confirmed. Thanks to filistimo as well. :) -More Informed Shadow Mage |

I meant to add "if the character possessed Combat Reflexes," was a mistake on my part after I rewrote the original post. Question was answered regardless, though. -Shadow Mage |
