| Man-Rata12-08-06, 07:09 PM | I've spent a little time making a spreadsheet calculating the average damage a character will do with a combat setup, against a given AC. I would like some opions from you if it's usable, or if theres some calculation errors somewhere. Since it's only version 0.5, the layout isn't great, but take a look and see what you think. http://www.box.net/index.php?rm=box_v2_download_shared_file&file_id=f_30855834 |
| Tyrf_Halden12-08-06, 08:07 PM | Dude thats sweet. |
| jacobi28912-08-06, 09:31 PM | I took a quick look at it, and it seems awesome. Once you gain multiple attacks per round, this makes it very easy to decide how to much to power attack without doing all the calculations in your head. |
| frasmage12-08-06, 10:09 PM | very well done. It all seems functional and that could come in handy |
| Kratch12-08-06, 10:59 PM | Very nice, though i can't seem to find a way to shut off the TWF option (and thus the -2 penalty) short of setting the off hand to ambidexterity (0/-2). Oh, and the other bonus's to hit doesn't seem to be impacting the attack %'s (at least not on itteratives. At least, not for me). But a very nice tool so far, thank you. |
| SilentOne12-08-06, 11:16 PM | The iterive attack %'s are based on the bonus of the attack before -25%, which it shouldn't. It should just compare it to the target AC you set... otherwise, against something where you have 100%+ chance to hit on your first swing, it'll always be 95% (nat 1), 70%, 45% 20%, which it really isn't. (I had 26 str, BAB +16, +5 weapon, and had those % to hit vs. AC 1) |
| Kratch12-08-06, 11:20 PM | That would explain why the extra bonus to hit wasn't working for me. |

| Man-Rata12-09-06, 08:47 AM | http://www.box.net/index.php?rm=box_v2_download_shared_file&file_id=f_30947022 A little better layout, and now the to-hit should be fixed, with a much better algoritm. |
| Kratch12-09-06, 01:26 PM | Much nicer layout (though the foe info could benifit also being near the top, though it'snot a big deal. everything is easy to find in it's own catagory now.). The to hit calculations seem to be working right, but i can't see to get the off hand damage. it had #REF in the damage spot. Again, nice work and thanks for spending the time on this. |
| Man-Rata12-09-06, 01:44 PM | The to hit calculations seem to be working right, but i can't see to get the off hand damage. it had #REF in the damage spot. Hmm, where did you get the #REF? Must mean it trys to reference a field i've move, but it didn't move in the formula. BTW anyone know how to calculate the chance for x DICE y, to be larger than z? Like the chance that 3d6 is larger than 15, I need a generic formula to be able to put in DR and Energy resistance. |
| Kratch12-09-06, 01:49 PM | I got it in the base damage field (where i plug things in like weapon focus, mastery, weapon damage/crit, etc.) as well in the chart that has the attacks (and itterative) % chance to hit and average damage. The to hit was working well, but the damage wasn't working. Main hand was working right, it was just the of hand. |
| Kratch12-09-06, 01:55 PM | It happens when i turn off best weapon damage feat. Actually, it happens when i turn it to weapon mastery as well as none. spec and greater spec work fine though. |
| Man-Rata12-09-06, 07:02 PM | http://www.box.net/index.php?rm=box_v2_download_shared_file&file_id=f_31028638 Ok, fixed the bug... though I can't quite see how it happen, bloody excel. Well moved foe too. |
| Kratch12-09-06, 08:44 PM | will give it a look when i get home. |
