New Exotic Weapon

Awl Pike** 7gp 1d6 1d8 x3 -- 13 lb Piercing

**This weapon has a twenty foot reach

Awl Pike (Martial): An awl pike has reach. You can strike opponets 15 feet away with it, but you can't use it against a foe who is 10 or 5 feet away.

Awl Pike (Exotic): An awl pike has reach. You can strike opponets 20feet away with it, but you can't use it against a foe who is 15, 10 or 5 feet away. The length of this common weapon makes it difficult to use without additional training.

These weapons are balanced, but because such long reach has no precedent (EXCEPT for the whip, but it's more of a disarm/trip tool than a weapon), it makes it hard to decide if it should be allowed. I have nothing against it personally, and it makes sense historically. And yet, there's this strange feeling about it...

Plus, it would give medium-sized (and Small-sized) characters a better chance against those very big creatures...
Although it could get ugly if a Titan wielded an exotic awl pike (maybe call it "sarissa", like the Greek 6 meter-long beast of a spear)...
