skio 02-21-07, 04:26 AM	Suppose you have a 10th level fighter with a +10/+5 BAB. This gives you two attacks/round with your main weapon, 1st with a +10 BAB, 2nd with a +5 BAB, right? Let say you choose to carry an off-hand weapon too. It offers you an extra attack/round. Which would be its BAB? +10? +5?
Devlonir 02-21-07, 04:42 AM	BAB would be +10, although you take a -4 penalty to hit on all your attacks. Two weapon fighting decreases this penalty to -2. You only get one attack for your off-hand weapon no matter how many extra attacks you get according to BAB. Only way to get more off hand attacks is by advancing further in the Two Weapon Fighting feat tree (improved and greater and eventually epic IIRC) I hope that answers any and all questions you might have in the future for Two Weapon fighting. EDIT: whoops, forgot to say that you indeed need a light weapon in your off hand for the penalty to be -4 without the feat. If your off hand weapon is not a light weapon, your penalty will be -6 without the feat and -4 with the feat of course
Sakaki22 02-21-07, 04:46 AM	This depends on many factors, all of which are explained in your Player's Handbook, page 160 If you have the Two Weapon Fighting feat, both your mainhand attack and your offhand attack will suffer a -4 penalty, giving you a +6/+1 mainhand, and a +6 offhand. If you have the Two Weapon Fighting feat AND your offhand weapon is a light weapon, that penalty is a -2 instead. So your mainhand will be a +8/+3, and your offhand will be a +8. Hope this helps. draconic_swine 02-21-07, 10:53 AM	As the others have said, your base attack bonus for your main hand will be +10/+5, and your base attack bonus for your off-hand will be +10. Sakaki22 has the correct numbers for your attack bonuses. In order to get a second attack with your off-hand, you'll need to take Improved Two-Weapon Fighting. The base attack bonus for your off-hand will then be +10/+5.

Main Off- Reason Solution -4 Not trained to fight with Two-Weapon Fighting off hand. -2 -2 Not trained to fight with Two-Weapon Fighting two weapons at once. -2 -2 Not wielding a light weapon wield a light weapon or take in the off hand. Oversized Two-Weapon Fighting -2 -2 Fighting with two weapons Tempest level 4th is extremely difficult. --------------------------------------------------- -6 -10 TOTAL TWO-WEAPON FIGHTING PENALTIES Now, your standard 10th level fighter gets two attacks with a primary weapon at +10/+5 (not counting Strength and whatnot). If he picks up two longswords, he gets two attacks with the main weapon at +4/-1 (BAB +10, less the main hand penalty of -6) and one with the off-hand weapon at +0 (BAB +10, less the off-hand penalty of -10). If he had taken the Two-Weapon Fighting feat, he has the same number of attacks, but at +6/+1 and +6. Two-Weapon Fighting mitigates the first two penalties bringing the total to -2/-2. If he had taken Two-Weapon Fighting and Improved Two-Weapon Fighting, he'd attack at +6/+1 and +6/+1. If he had TWF, ITWF and Oversized TWF, he'd attack at +8/+3 and +8/+3.
