Sae Cael Oanar 09-12-04, 12:25 PM	any rules for backhanding weapons (i.e. holding a sword down instead of up)? i know theres nothing by the book, i was just wondering if anyone thought they ought to be treated differently.
obrysii 09-12-04, 12:59 PM	When one holds a sword in DnD...the BaB represents their training...some are trained to hold it up, some are trained to hold it down. It's more of a role playing thing. Mechanically, no difference.

But as Obrysii said, it can be a roleplaying thing, your character was trained in a special fighting style, cool! Imagine a Elven Ranger/rogue attacing you with two shortswords held "up-side down", and stille giving you on hell of a headache/beating!! Evil O
Fixxxer 09-12-04, 02:16 PM	There is no change in the rules for doing so. It's purely a descriptive manuever and doesn't change the mechanics of the game at all.
