how much does a backpack and a sack hold

I would base it off of weight. Say 60lbs for the backpack....15 for the sack.

Backpacks and Sacks each hold up to 60 lbs.

A backpack or a sack holds up to 1 cubic foot in volume, or up to 60 pounds in weight.

(In Metric units, the figures given are 0.03 cubic meters and 30 kilograms.)

Ok, so get a type II and carry a whole lot more in that bag than you could carry in a backpack.
