| chiefcastor11-10-04, 11:44 PM | If you are standing on something that requires you to make a balance check such as an area effected by the grease spell, then you lose your dex bonus to AC. My question is... if you fall down and are prone in the grease do you still lose your dex? or is it only while you are standing that you lose it since you dont have to make a balance check while you are prone? |

| Inigo Carmine11-11-04, 11:21 AM | Note you are made flat-footed, not "denied your dex bonus to AC". There is a bit of difference here, mostly that: 1) Those with uncanny dodge will not be denied their dex bonus to AC 2) Those who are balancing cannot make AoOs without combat reflexes. There are other subtle differences too, like a monk being unable to deflect arrows even if he sees it coming. Also, remember that if you have 5 or more ranks in balance, you are no considered flat footed while "balancing". |
