I was going through A&EG, and i stumbled acrossed the Balanced enhancement for weapons. It says a creature one size smaller then the weapon can wield it in one hand. So would negetive appy? If so would i also need to obtain the feat monkey grips.
An example, was a halfling can use a balance battleaxe in one hand.

Could I make my human character hold a greatsword in one hand by stating that the greatsword is one catagory larger for a longsword, according to the table 1-1, pg 4.

A&EG was built during a transition period when the new weapon size system had not been created, as such it might need a tiny bit of translation for 3.5. In the old system, yes you would be wielding a greatsword, now you will be wielding a large longsword. What's the difference between the two? Not really anything. OR maybe it will translate as one hand category bigger(one handed vs two-handed). For swords it does not make much of a difference, but other weapons, such as the flail, complicate things a bit. A large sized flail(2d6 x2 +2 bonus on disarm) is different than a Heavy flail(1d10 19-20x2 +2 on disarm). You should consult your DM on how he interprets it; I personally say its one hand category.
