Hi,

I know the bane property has been there since the 3e. But just now I got a little confused on the wording.

Bane adds a +2 enhancement bonus against the selected enemy and does an additional +2d6 damage.

My question, is the +2 enhancement bonus only to Attack or does the +2 get added as damage as well on top of the +2d6?

Sorry to send this old school question.

From the SRD:

A bane weapon excels at attacking one type or subtype of creature. Against its designated foe, its effective enhancement bonus is +2 better than its normal enhancement bonus. It deals an extra 2d6 points of damage against the foe.

I'd say that applies to the whole enhancement bonus rather than just the attack portion of it. So, if you have a +1 bane weapon, it'd be +3 to attack and +2d6+3 damage against its designated foe.
