| G_Mancer03-25-07, 01:38 PM | what are peoples thoughts on a dwarven barbarian who wields a reach weapon that trips taking the combat expertice-imp trip feats. is it not worth it because i cant use combat expertise while raging? or are the benifets of tripping worth not being able to use a feat every once in a while? |

You can use Improved trip all the time even when raging. My question is are you trying to be a good tripper than it doesn't matter that CE doesn't work in rage. CE might not be used but you can always fight defensively instead. |

| draconic_swine03-25-07, 02:47 PM | It's definitely worth taking Improved Trip as a barbarian, especially if you're keen on tripping. So what if you can't use Combat Expertise while raging? Think of Combat Expertise as being one of those useless feats that are requried for PrCs. I've known plently of tripping builds who rarely made use of Combat Expertise. You'll be better of raging most of the time (especially for that increased Strength to aid your trip checks), but when you need it on occasion, CE will still be there for you. |
| Fallenangel35903-25-07, 03:11 PM | remember, you can always end a rage early, and go into expertise mode... lose the ac penalty, and gain ac. |

| Johannixx03-25-07, 06:43 PM | I've been running a barbarian with CE and IT (and Knockdown, a carry-over from 3.0) for some time now. It's pretty effective, though I tend to go into combat with CE in effect until it looks like I need the extra power of rage, or I see that combat's drawing to a close. Most of our combats last longer than 7 rounds (14 Con :(), so I don't want to end up fatigued. |
| runestar03-26-07, 12:59 AM | There is a feat which prevents your character from becoming fatigued, IIRC. Tireless or something?:) Warforged barbs don't become fatigued either. |
