Question 1:
Can people enlighten me as to how the improved critical feature of the 7th level barbarian class variant works ...

Lets take a greatsword (19-20)X2 ...
Lets make it keen (17-20)X2

If a barbarian holds it ... is it
(16-20)X2 ... additional one

or is it
(15-20)X2 ... additional one (double for keen)

Question 2:
A character that charges, has the penalty to AC until the start of their next turn, is it safe to say that they keep the bonus to hit until the start of their next turn as well?

At least provide the relevant info next time. Not everyone visits the wotc website, much less is aware of such a web enhancement.:)

At 7th level, the critical threat range of any charge attack he makes, or any attack he makes against a flat-footed foe, increases by 1. (Thus, a greataxe would threaten a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20.) This ability stacks with the Improved Critical feat or the keen weapon enhancement.

It should be (16-20)x2. As a general rule, such multipliers affect only the base weapon property. Thus, keen/improved crit would double the base threat range of the weapon, then you improve it further by 1.

Runestar got the first question. I'll take the second.

After moving, you may make a single melee attack. You get a +2 bonus on the attack roll and take a -2 penalty to your AC until the start of your next turn.

Note the bolded text. The +2 bonus applies only to "the" attack roll at the end of the charge. The AC penalty applies until the start of your next turn.

Ooh...there is a 2nd question...:embarrass

I agree with Colmarr, to-hit bonus applies only to the attack made while charging, but AC penalty is until start of next round.

Ooh...there is a 2nd question...:embarrass

I agree with Colmarr, to-hit bonus applies only to the attack made while charging, but AC penalty is until start of next round.

But ... for barbarians using the complete champions pounce routine, they get multiple attacks ... I would assume that each of these attacks would get that same bonus, but ... a strict reading of the rules (the attack) would indicate otherwise, which is why I asked.

Thanks guys for the quick answers so far ...
