This is what I have:
Barbarian Warpaint: This highly saught after pigment looks just like regular war paint, but when it is applied it grants an armor bonus to AC ranging from +2 to +10 depending on the color.
They take one full round to apply and the effects last for 24 hours. Each compact is good for 10 applications before it is empty.
Green: +2 AC
Yellow: +4 AC
Orange: +6 AC
Red: +8 AC
Black: +10 AC
Moderate conjuration; CL 7th; Craft Wondrous Item, Shield Of Faith, creator’s caster level must be at least two times that of the bonus placed on the pigment; Price ??? gp (+2), ??? gp (+4), ??? gp (+6), ??? gp (+8), ??? gp (+10);Weight -
All the stuff in red is stuff I can't figure out or am not sure of. This is meant to be made by Druids, so the spell might need to be changed to some equivilant. Im not very good at making magic items Im afraid:weep:
Could one of you guys help with it?

Well, let's have a look.

It's an armour bonus to AC, so let's look at something equivalent:

Bracers of armour are a permanent item, but not a bad start. They follow the formula cost of +X = X^2 x 1000gp.

Now, personally I would put a limited use item somewhere between 1/25th and 1/50th the value of a permanent item. Since this lasts 24 hours I'm going to go with 1/25th.

So that gives us X^2 x 40gp per charge or X^2 x 400gp for 10 charges.

So for each level:

+2 = 1600gp
+4 = 6400gp
+6 = 14,400gp
+8 = 25,600gp
+10 = 40,000gp

How does that sound?

Edit: As for what spell to use, I'd say Barkskin is the closest.

Sounds about right. And barkskin should work just fine.

Nice one, a good way to be able to do the concept of a Barbarian without armor. The pricing seems ok, but can become quite a burden to your money after a while..

Oh well, thats what you pay for having your chest space free..

Also, combining this with a +1 padded armor of heavy fortification and other sweet stuff is a nice way to abuse it and get good armor at low lvl.. that is because the 6400gp version is already better on raw AC. But I guess there are easier ways to buff AC.. (like with a cleric) So I think this is an OK item.

If your going to use barkskin have it grant a natural armor bonus to AC. Just to be consistant.

Natural armor bonus leaves A LOT of room for abuse. Too much in fact...

For natural armour, double all the prices.

Doubling all prices might be good.

The armour bonus granted by this product is too high given the levels. look at a ring of protection for a price equivalent; that being said, it is also too expensive (I am under the assumption that this "item" is similar to a potion or an oil, with a time limited use).

Now, I don't have my books in front of me so this won't be as accurate as if I did, but what you should use is use Bracers of Armour as the basis for your item. Because of it's limited use, look under the exact creation rules in the DMG for a pricing and adjust it based on what the BoA cost. Maybe allow a blue paint that can grant a variable bonus based on the amount used (from one to 10 "uses" to get a higher AC bonus).

The spell required should be the same as bracers of armour if it is an armour bonus granted.

What a great idea. I wish I had done that...

Mabey CL 9 and "Stone Skin" Barkskin would really have to be a NA bonus....

Hey - personal attack - which is against the forums policy - which I read.

Besides, I said I didn't have my books in front of me, and that he should read the section on crafting unique magic items, which you clearly read me say. And as far as +10 to armour goes, that is an epic level item, even if it is use only - which (I assume) makes it out of reach for the item he had in mind.

Maybe instead of posting useless comments about other peoples' posts (which I believe is trolling), you might offer something of substance.

Anyways, to further on your question OP, Maybe you should make this as some sort of alchemical item to "keep it cheap", which is more befitting common items a barbarian tribe is likely to use on a regular basis. Otherwise they'll soon find their casters (capable of making the goop) are losing levels faster than they're replacing them. Besides, making magic items is slow, and you can only create "1 item" per day (which I'd assume is about ten uses).

Look... up, up, up, up, up, up, up, up, up, up. Read the 1st and 2nd post in the thread and you can see why he's a little snippy. It's not like this thread is 10 pages long...

That being said, armor is better at all levels instead of the warpaint. Hmm, 10-day armor...what is it really worth? :D This would definitely be a fluff buy, not a crunch buy.

Not a "crunch" buy? I take it you mean a mechanically advantageous buy; any armour I can put on in a round that grants me a +10 armour bonus is a "crunch" buy.

I still think such an item is way too expensive, as per the second post.

No, it's still a fluff buy...but it's because it's way too expensive. :D

Mithral Breastplate +5
AC = 10
Max Dex = 5
Cost = 35200 gp (4800 less than the +10 paint)
You can also sleep in a Mithral Breastplate with no penalties because it's considered light armor.

Heck, even a regular Chain Shirt is better.

Chain Shirt +4
AC = 8
Max Dex = 4
Cost = 16100 gp (9500 gp less than the +8 paint)
Light Armor, you can sleep in it, blah blah.

Of course, scenarios can be made that would require the PCs to not be wearing armor or whatever, but for pure benefit vs. costs, armor wins (until the price is reduced).

Archangel Tyreal has the right of it. This is a serious fluff buy item, possibly a great way for DMs to separate foolish players from their gold.
The actual item was made for a specific campaign world, its free to champions of specific tribes. The reason the price is so high is because its EXTREMELY difficult to obtain and is a death sentence for anyone who possesses it with the particular region where it is made.
If you want the details of the world its in my sig as a collaboration world.

Also this was created in the Arms and Equipment guide.

Also if it was AC that you were concerned about, then you could just use the Armor less Defense variant in the Unearthed Arcana and just have them wear War paint.
