| Wolfpack11-02-05, 12:30 AM | It would become +11/+6/+1 Whenever you add base attack total it up with what you already have and if you can subtract 5 from the lowest BAB you get an extra attack. |
| Colmarr11-02-05, 12:55 AM | Wolfpack is correct. Although the tables in the classes section of the PHB show BAB as a string of attacks, ultimately it isn't. It is just a number (ie. +11). If that number is high enough (ie. more than 6) and you are using a manufactured weapon or an unarmed strike, you can subtract 5 and make another attack at that number, and so on until either you can't take 5 more off or you reach your fourth attack. |

That just doesn't feel right....Only the first number of the base attack is ever relevant. All of your following attacks are based on it. So a character with a BAB of 7 who took four levels of fighter would end up with a BAB of 11. Now to figure out what your full attack routine would be, subtract 5. After that continue subtracting 5 until you reach 0 or less. You cannot make an attack at BAB 0 or less, so that's where we stop. So your example character would (as mentioned in another post) have a BAB of 11 and a full attack routine of 11/6/1. |
