I'm trying to make Batman ( 10 Rogue / Justiciar 10 ) and i want some opinions as to what equipment he might have.

The Grapple-Firing Crossbow from Song and Silence, attached to the Cablespool from Savage Species, means you have your iconic grapple-gun.

Combine that with some bat-shaped shuriken, and that's almost all you'll need.

Belt of Many Pockets
Rod of Ropes
Cloak of Resistance
Hat of Disguise (though it'd be more like a cowl and mask)
Boomerangs (Baterangs)

-returning boomerang with multiple target.

-Cape of feather fall

-Belt of many pocket of holding type IV
You can as a swift action take out the Batshield(towershield) and put yourself in total cover by the same time with an extra allies. When the shield is out it permit you hear well enough to be able to count the number of ammo that goes out of a machine gun

- Glove of punish evil
you get a 1d6 damage bonus on evil creature. On a successful hit a flash occur and may show a word like : Poww,Bang. This is an illusion effect the DC is charisma based. you also gain a +10 to hit vs sharks when holding on a rope ladder attached to an helicopter.

If you don't give him Monk levels or the Superiour Unarmed Strike feat (ToB), you might want to give him a Monk's Belt, so he deals decent unarmed damage. Most of his fighting is unarmed, so he should be dealing more than 1d3 damage. ;)

To be fair, most of the guys Batman fought were level 1-3 anyways, so a pucnh or three would take them right out, especially with a decent Strength score.

True. That's one problem with porting over modern concepts into super-high-fantasy-I-kill-dragons-in-my-sleep D&D.

Batman himself would probably be a level, oh say, 10-ish character at best. He was pretty badass, after all, but when you consider that level 20 characters are literally superhuman, well, it puts things in perspective a bit.

As for gear, don't forget your can of 3/day Forbiddance that affects sharks.

I would go with the rod of ropes, over this. Complete scoundrel.

It is almost word for word the description I would give for his grapple gun.

I've seen Batman use his cape as a shield hundreds of times, Dyrr's Impervious Vestment looks like the best item but a Gnome Battle Cloak would work.

Signature Crest on his armour aswell.

But he did fight superpowered bad guys too. Well some were superpowered - some of the more famous ones being Poison Ivy, Clayface, Scarecrow, Bane (sort of), etc. Though Joker was the most dangerous one. Guy is like some crazy high level tinkerer.

And Batman needs something to do unarmed damage. Monk levels really make the most sense. With some Vigilante levels, that PrC was obviously made for the lurk-in-the-night heroes. And maybe some Justiciar.

Monk levels, or Superior Unarmed Strike.

Are we talking about a batman that is just wearing a black suit or the batman in the best armor out there. How much gold do we have to spend on the gear? The gear will change based on what classes and feats he has.

Definitely the powered armor from Dark Knight Returns :P

Ever seen Batman? Gold is no object. He has a Bag of Holding of Infinite Gold.

I've thought about making a Batman type of character and giving him a lot of little trinkets and things to throw but I am always looking at the saves for things and thinking they would be pretty ineffective at higher levels. Has anyone made a character like this that can comment on how effective it was?

One time I saw batman fall into a vat of acid. Then it went to a commercial break. Then, when it came back, batman crawled out of the acid unscathed! When robin asked how he did that he said he was lucky to have those acid neutralizing pellets in his belt.

Years later I was reading in complete scoundrel (?) and found an item called acid neutralizer. According to the rules text it would protect you if it was on your person when you fell into a vat of acid.

The moral of the story? If you’re making batman include acid neutralizer.

Don't forget bat-female-villain repellent.

Most of the vilain he thought was level 1-3? Maybe the goons.

Think of Joker... I'm sorry but if every super-villain is scared of you. You have to be near epic. To think he's so crazy/scary that even the top super-villains won't accept him into the inner circle of evilness is just plain amazing.

Heck! He's been said to not truly be crazy and rather be living in a sort of super-sanity.

It's amazing batman didn't die faster eh.
