So my roommates have a ton of books... lot's and lot's. I tend to read over magical arms and equipment often and came across two items.

One was a buckler that, when the command word was spoken came alive and would grant a +2 deflection bonus to ac as well as intercept arrows like the catch arrows feat.

Another was a pair of bracers that, again command worded, turned into a swarm of insects that took the shape of a sheild and would grant a +2 sheild bonus.

So, do you have to have sheild proficiency to use the buckler in the flying bettle form?

Do you take asf for the bracers becoming a shield?
Also, could you wear bracers below the bug bracers since when you use them as a shield the bracers disapears (I think)?

you need to be proficient to use an animated shield... so I would assume the beetle one would follow the same guideline..

i would say you do not need sheild proficiency to use the bracers.
and you cannot wear two sets of bracers at once.

you may want to use an action or 2 to donn other bracers once the swarm flies off you, but htat seems excessive.
