| Draco Strang01-23-05, 04:09 PM | for a small character, bag of holding is good since you have such a limited carrying capacity Also, you cant go wrong with a set of +1 studded and a +1 weapon, as well as potions of invisibility, cure potions. Check out Song and Silence for a lot of neato rogue equipment that isn't magical, but still pretty cool. Give it a try. |
| The Tinkerer01-23-05, 09:37 PM | If your character has any skill in Use Rope, and as a sailor he should, I would suggest the endless spool of rope (from Complete Adventurer), add in a Desmondous (sp?) Cable spooler (Savage Species) and a mechanical clip to cut the rope as a free action and you have an insanely useful item for not that much cash. Endless Spool 2200gp (off the top of my head, don't have the books here at work) Desmondous Cable Spooler 175gp Rope clipper 25gp (estimated price) Total price 2400gp |
| evangelion101001-23-05, 10:07 PM | Mithril chain shirt - DMG - +4 ac, +6 dex limit, no ACP. Half weight from normal. Hewards handy haversack - like a bag of holding...only more useful. Those are 3300 total i belive. Hat of disguise - +10 to disguise, 1,800 gp. A +1 weapon isn't bad. not a necessity though. Masterwork theives tools, forgery kit, disguise kit - +2 to open lock, disable device, forgery, disguise. ~ 300 total. Various alchemical items - alchemist's fire/frost/spark, acid, stonebreaker's acid, acidic fire, holy water. Most are in the PHB, the stonebreaker is in Arms and equipment, and the frost/spark/acidic fire are in eberron campaign setting. You can now kill trolls, hurt golems/objects, and hurt undead. For 2-3 flasks of each, you're looking at 700 or so gp. Stonebreaker's is especially nice - 1d10/round for 3 rounds i believe, bypasses hardness of objects. All other 1 time use alchemical items have some use generally, whether its covering the party's escape, distracting the enemy...etc. Coin or marble with continual flame, rope. None of those items should break the bank, and have usefullness through level 10, sometimes even farther - although generally a well versed wizard can cover all the bases, it never hurts for when he runs out of a spell. |
