| Phase01-23-06, 05:24 PM | What is the best armor anyone can make with a max of +5 enchantment, and useing the full dex of +10. Can be any material, as long as it has at least a max dex of 10, but isnt from a specific item, Ex. Tesselated. And anyone know what book nimble is in? |
| pres_man01-23-06, 05:40 PM | Using the core rules, a mithral full plate would be the best. Followed by a mithral chain shirt and mithral breastplate tied for second. |
| Raxmei01-23-06, 05:49 PM | The only armor I can think of that lets you use a full dex bonus of 10 (are you worried about touch attacks?) is the gnome twist cloth from Races of Stone. Only a +1 armor bonus on its own, but it allows you to apply your full dex bonus to AC. If you want to spend a feat it also helps your touch AC. If you just want a high sum of armor and dex bonus to AC the easiest way to get it is probably some mithral armor. Chain shirt is nice for dextrous skill monkeys because of its low ACP (goes to 0 with mithral), while full plate has the highest armor bonus. |
| Xaxor01-23-06, 06:01 PM | Dyrr's Impervious Vestment, Complete Arcane, +9 AC 0 ACP 0% ASF There are no better suits of armor, it's a constant tradeoff between Max Dex and AC. The flat best is probably a Mithril Breastplate, +5 AC +5 Max Dex -1 ACP. It counts as light obviously. |
| KnightRanger01-23-06, 06:10 PM | What about making a suit of Celestial Armor that's Mithral? I don't know if you can even do this, but if you can, it would get your ACP down to 0 as well as getting your Max Dex bonus to +12. Plus it's Chainmail that's considered light armor. I was thinking about making some, but, again, I'm not sure if you can do this ;) |

| KnightRanger01-23-06, 07:59 PM | Where does it say that's it's elven chain? I didn't see it in the description. Nothing about Mithral or it being elven. |
| mvincent01-23-06, 08:21 PM | Where does it say that's it's elven chain? I didn't see it in the description. Nothing about Mithral or it being elven.Actually, it's already better than mithral. The benefits of mithral should not be allowed to further add on. |
| Rulebook01-23-06, 09:26 PM | This bright silver or gold +3 chainmail this discribes that its not made of steel, and the further stats of the armor prove that its made out of something superior to mithral. but as far as im concerned, its the best armor i can think of. well short of Gorgon Studded Leather from the Quintessential Rogue, but its broken at a nonmagical +5ac/+8max dex light armor. also, its really fun to put Twilight on your celestial chain for your spellsword gish builds. |
| Kovok01-23-06, 09:54 PM | I personally like the nightscale armour from the Underdark book. +2 AC bonus, +10 Max. Dex. It's grat for wizards because it only hass an arcand spell failure of 5% and it has a check penalty of 0 just for the rogues out there. |
| Tony Vargas01-24-06, 03:51 PM | Bracers of Armor are actually a pretty good bet with such a high DEX. +5 bracers cost just a bit less than +5 armor of whatever type (saves you the MW and any material costs), and you don't have to go combing through piles of suplements or whining for DM aproval - plus, they work vs incorporeal touch attacks. |
