| D20RollPlayer01-15-06, 08:19 PM | I have 49,000 to spend on weapons and armour, if anyone could give me some hints to armour that will make me harder to spot, and the price of said armour taht would be helpful. Also I was thinking of going for duel flame shortswords, how much would this come too? Thanks! |
| masterofmayhem01-15-06, 08:28 PM | The Shadow (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicItems/magicArmor.htm#shadow) and Silent Moves (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicItems/magicArmor.htm#silentMoves) armor special abilities seem to be what you are looking for. Keep in mind, though, that they are half again the cost of what properly slotted wondrous items would cost (see the Cloak of Elvenkind (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicItems/wondrousItems.htm#cloakofElvenkind), and whatever boots that give you a move silently bonus). A pair of +1 flaming shortswords would cost you 8,310 gold each. Keep in mind, however, that it takes a standard action to activate the flaming property on your swords, and that it is somewhat difficult to hide when you are carrying two flaming torches . . . All of this information can be found in the 3.5 SRD (http://www.d20srd.org/) (more links to which can be found in my signature). Also, as a fifteenth level character, you should be getting far more than 49,000 gold. About 151,000 gold, to be precise. If you character is being shorted three-quarters of his wealth, he is going to be so severely weakened it won't be funny. You should talk to your DM, ask if he meant to shortchange you. Hell, a fifteenth level NPC has more money than you! :nonono: . . . Unless this is just the allotment for your weapons and armor, and you have lots more for wondrous items and such. |
| Raxmei01-15-06, 09:08 PM | Glamered is a pretty cheap (2,700 gp) property that'll let you wear your armor inconspicuously all the time. It doesn't help you sneak, it just makes you look like you're not wearing armor. That'll help you deal with people who think wearing armor all the time is suspicious. |
| DerkathTheMighty01-15-06, 09:18 PM | My personal flare is to lure my victems into grabbing something that I have loaded with a few vials of pure black lotus extract. With a required fortitude save of about 28 i believe and 3d6 constitution primary followed by 3d6 constitution secondary damage... is enough to kill just about anyone at that level... because remember, when your constitution reaches zero you pretty much die. but make sure you use alchemy checks and craft checks to make the appropriate items. :evillaugh your opponents would basically vomit their insides!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

It would be a Craft (poisonmaking) check. Alchemy is only used by spellcasters (and can only be used by them, for some reason) to create alchemical items. Black Lotus Extract is a DC 20 3d6 con/3d6 con poison. It also costs 4,500 gold per vial. It's not something you can really throw around, not, at least, at the level where you can afford it. At fifteenth level, a DC 20 fortitude save is chump change. |

| Raxmei01-16-06, 02:38 AM | The armor extra Muffling gives a circumstance bonus to silent moves. It stacks with the Silent Moves magic property because it's a different bonus. |
| CaoSlayer01-16-06, 08:07 AM | ummm, if you get somehow 1000gp you will be able to aford a +1 brilliant energy weapon, the without a doubt the perfect asassin weapon, if you are able to pull a full attack at a flat-flooter oponent, you will normally hit him with a AC of 10. otherwise, I recoment a plain +4 weapon for the same reason, for doing sneaks attacks you need all the help posible. |
| D20RollPlayer01-16-06, 11:49 AM | sorry i must of been tired, I ment 5 rogue, 5 assasin. |

Circumstance bonuses stack with all other bonuses. I wonder, what book is this in, and what is the price for it? Most items do not give circumstance bonuses, mainly because of the abuses that can be created with all that stacking. ummm, if you get somehow 1000gp you will be able to aford a +1 brilliant energy weapon, the without a doubt the perfect asassin weapon, if you are able to pull a full attack at a flat-flooter oponent, you will normally hit him with a AC of 10. otherwise, I recoment a plain +4 weapon for the same reason, for doing sneaks attacks you need all the help posible. Brilliant energy is a horrible choice for an assassin. It always sheds light as a torch, so it is nearly impossible to hide, even with hide in plain sight ("Gee, George, why is that bobbing light source coming closer to us?") and, well, brilliant energy generally is just subpar. Not worth the +4 bonus. Now, if it ignored natural armor, I would say it would be a great choice (for a non sneaky person), but it doesn't, and at higher levels, almost everything you fight has a huge natural armor bonus. sorry i must of been tired, I ment 5 rogue, 5 assasin. Ah, so that is all the gold you get, then? Well, you don't want to just buy items with that money; you need equipment, as well. I'll do my best to help with equipment, but if you could post all your stats, that would help a lot. Alternatively, you could head over to the Character Optimization Board (http://boards1.wizards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=339). They live for this stuff. ;) Equipment +2 [Weapon] 8,3?? Gold +1mithral chainshirt 5,100 gold Amulet of Constitution +2 4,000 gold Vest of Resistance +2 4,000 gold Belt of Strength +2 4,000 gold Cloak of Elvenkind 2,500 gold Gloves of dexterity +2 4,000 gold Ring of Sustenance 2,500 gold Ring of Deflection +1 2,000 gold Goggles of Night 12,000 gold Boots of Sneaking 2,500 gold (+5 competence bonus to move silently) (+5 competence bonus to move silently) Quick and dirty, that's likely how I would spend your money for a rogue 5/assassin 5. |

Costs 300 gp and adds 2 pounds to your armor's weight. It's just a +2, but it's really cheap and it stacks. I just double checked and it definitely is a circumstance bonus. |

It should be more like [bonus squared] x 100 x 3. |
