I would have to say that the best cursed item that I have been able to make use of is the Mirror of opposition. Essentially if you find one then wrap it up carefully and place it in a back of holding. When you come up against a powerful foe then have your party members guard you then expose the powerful foe to the Mirror. Then cover it up again after the FOE's opposite is attacking him and then assist the mirror image and you should be able to dispatch the foe alot more easily.

Have to say that the GM was somewhat perplexed when I told him that I would be covering the Mirror without destroying it and more than a little bit put out when I brought it out against his main bad guy that was not able to escape in time.

What is your Favourite Cursed item that you have been able to make use of in game in this way or another.

Once we made a cursed sword looking the same as an enemy fighter, then excanged the two blades while he was absent. It was quite a group work: the cleric and the wizard cooperated in the magic part of the process, while the rogue had to make Int check to remember the look of the sword and to use Forgery to draw on a paper the shape of the sword. The Barbarian with Craft (weaponsmithing) had to create the masterwork sword (more difficult because he had to follow exactly the rogue's draw). It came out a +1 cursed longsword of clumsiness that also made the wielder to change sex after the first strike in battle  (that was fun, indeed!).
We had to find out where the guy lived (Bard's work) and to find a way to drag him out without his sword (again, female Bard's work with the help of a couple of wine bottles). Then the Rogue had to pass through the magical defenses and to switch the swords.
That's done the Rogue gave the signal to the bard who could at last throw a glass of water right in the face of the fighter.
The next time we met him he was a female and didn't wield anymore his sword (he surely had discovered the curse himself). But it was a nice plan.

Oh, and there's the berserker's sword. As long as your friends stay out of the way ;)

dust of sneezing and choking. for your viewing pleasure:Dust of Sneezing and Choking: This fine dust appears to be dust of appearance. If cast into the air, it causes those within a 20- foot spread to fall into fits of sneezing and coughing. Those failing a DC 15 Fortitude save take 2d6 points of Constitution damage immediately. In addition, those failing a second DC 15 Fortitude save 1 minute later are dealt 1d6 points of Constitution damage. Those who succeed on either saving throw are nonetheless disabled by choking (treat as stunned) for 5d4 rounds.
Faint conjuration; CL 7th; Create Wondrous Item, poison; Price 2,400 gp.nothing quite like it for disabling people. sure, it's DC 15 to deal the con damage... but 5d4 rounds of stun (twice!) is no laughing matter, let me tell you that. works best when used by someone without a con score, but otherwise useful if you apply the tube method of dispersing dust  :evillaugh

and of course, the AEG sprayer would be handy too ;) now you just have to find some way to get multiple uses in a smaller area, and you're set.

Well, my absolute favorite once appeared in Dragon Magazine.

Anyone remember the Hammer of Dwarven Throwing? It was a +1 warhammer that appeared in all respects like a Hammer of Throwing and even performed as such until a dwarf attempted to throw it. It then would throw the dwarf with a +5 bonus to hit whatever the dwarf was facing at the time.

come on everyone surely there must be more cursed items that you have been able to make use of to the chagrin of the GM.

What about the shield of arrow and missile attraction.

think about them.

remember the bag of devouring?
give it to the warforged! his stuff isn't digested, and he is only spat out when he gets sucked in, unlike the hotel's pesky thief!
