| Rainy_day_man04-09-07, 04:11 AM | Hey all, I am trying to find which items would be the best for a Warforged Barb 5/ Jugg 5/ Frenzied Berzerker 5. I have level 15 gold, meaning a cool 200K to spend on whatever I wish. The character I have in mind is for a one-shot session, for a tournament free-for-all, no friendlies, just total and utter destruction of every squishy I see :D . I am having a hard time trying to figure out what weapons/equipment to buy to fully dole out the most damage while keeping myself alive. The current idea I have right now is a giant belt of strength +4, Armor +5 (Warforged can enchant themselves), Ioun stone Lavender and green. I currently have no idea what to buy weapon wise. Books allowed are any first party WOTC books. So just about anything, realy. When posting suggestions, please post where you are getting your materials from, so that I may be able to cross-refrence them for myself. Thank you for all of your help! |

| Rainy_day_man04-09-07, 04:56 AM | Ah, well, as a 5th level warforged Juggernaut, through construct perfection, I gain immunity to non-lethal damage. I dont have that book, so I don't know what other benifits they give, but I will try to find a friend that has it. Thanks though! |
| Rainy_day_man04-09-07, 06:15 AM | Current Item Set Up: Cloak of resistance +5 Belt of giant strength +4 Bracers of armor +5 Armor +5, Axe block, Spear Block Bastard Sword +5 Any other ideas/flaws that I have in my build? |
| Tamerlane04-09-07, 06:55 AM | Instead of the bastard sword, go with either an armblade or a spinning flail (Secrets of Xen'Drik). That way you can't be disarmed, and the spinning flail is +2 to initiate grapple & disarm, in addition to being vicious (+2d6 to target, +1d6 to you). Slap a shield on that free arm if you're not going TWF. If you're allowed, pump up the enhancement bonus on the flail. Ring of Blinking would be pretty potent for you, or a Cloak of Minor Displacement (20% instead of 50%, but continuous). A pair of Strongarm Bracers from the MIC would be pretty spiffy on top of your GPC. Slap a Greater Crystal of Energy Assault (any of the four will do) on whichever weapon you pick. Finally, since this is a one-shot thing I would suggest a Strand of Acid Pearls. |
| runestar04-09-07, 07:03 AM | Why do you have both bracers and magical armour? The armour bonuses they both grant will not stack. Since juggernaut grants immunity to non-lethal damage, I guess that resolves 1 problem then. You might want an animated shield for the AC. Maybe add some armour spikes and TWF with your greatsword? +5 weapon takes up a huge chunk of your treasure. Maybe lower it to +2 or +3 and add the raging enhancement?(not sure of its name, but at +1, it increases the enhancement bonus of your weapon by +2 when raging). Valorous increases your damage while charging. I am not sure if buying oils of greater magic weapon(+5) would be cheating or not, but it would allow you to augment your weapons to +5 on the cheap. It is cheap(3000gp), and should be fairly resistant to dispel, given the lv limits of your challenge. Maybe buy oil of barskin at caster lv20 as well? What are all those axe blocks I see? What feats have you taken? |
| Rainy_day_man04-09-07, 07:58 AM | Axe blocking/spear blocking give me, in the end, DR 5/Bludgoning. They end up being a +4 modifier to the armor. I also get spikes as a jugg. As for the weapon, again, I dont have that book, but I will try to check it out. the oil is a good idea, and saves me a ton (Costs +4 instead of 9) The armblade is very nice, in fact, I think i'll move one of my barb levels to a fighter so that I can take power attack as a bonus, leaving me to take the exotic weapon proficentcy for it. The crystals, again, I have to check. Thanks for all of your help! |
| Weab04-09-07, 10:33 AM | I would look at picking up items that will help you against casters. you'll run down any run of the mill fighter, but the flying wizard? how do you expect to beat him? Rings of freedom of movement, potions of fly, etc etc are gonna be your best friend in free for alls like these, where movement is key. if someone has a form of movement you cant beat, they win. they can outlast and wittle your raging form down while you beat the walls in frustration |
| Rainy_day_man04-09-07, 02:30 PM | The potion won't work, as a full jugg, I no longer am able to get any benifits from drinking potions (I am pretty much 95% construct at this point) Maybe a ring of flight or something would work, though I don't know. You make a good point though. |
