Hello,

One of my players is looking at getting a great bow made (complete warrior), and he asked me what would the best (toughest) material available in the game to make such a weapon. He fell victim to a sunder attack which destroyed his regular bow, and he would prefer it not happen again ;). Also for future reference, in your opinion, how tough would be a normal great bow (HP, Damage Resistance), and also a great bow made of the new material proposed in this thread.

Thank you for your time.

Iron wood is a good option.. and if you dont mind eberron bronzewood would work aswell.
Also in the DMG under the sections about the plains there is a description of a bow made frmo the antlers of some deer..... it is magical in nature and if he coudl get his hand son that... well it coul dbe good for him.

This is a material that when sunders, can heal itself.

As his last bow was sundered, he might consider that to be "the best" one available.
