Just curious as to everybody's opinion. In the Campaign we are starting, we all get an ancestral relic for free. This being said, I want opinions as to what it should be. If we want, we can bank the item until we have enough GP for it. (So if I want Mithril Full Plate, I need to wait.)

What would be best for these characters?
1. Marshal1/Paladin2-LG- Human
2. Psychic Warrior 3- LG- Dwarf
3- Sorcerer3- CG- Elf
4- Bard3- Human- CG
5- Dragon Shaman (Gold)- Dragonborn- NG

Any thoughts would be great.
GP limit for Ancestral Relic at 3rd level is 1350gp.
Thanks. :)

A +1 sword of your choice is always nice

Yeah, but a +1 sword costs a 2000, not 1000. So that's out. +1 armor might be useful.

The Psychic warrior could go with a masterwork deep crystal weapon.
Handy Haversack is useful, but you'd have to wait.

I'm sure someone has some better suggestions than I...

For the marshal/paladin, probably a holy weapon (Not holy avenger but any weapon with a good aligned enchantmet)

Psychic Waririor That's tough for me as I rarely use psionics
Sorcerer - something to boost AC (Bracers of armor +1; or maybe a +1 MItlril chain shirt with the celestial enchantment.
Bard 3 - See sorcerer
Dragon Shaman - no experience with the class.

You'll ave to waita level or two for some of them but it'll be worth it in the end (armor would grant +5 AC 0% spell failure) can't remember where celestial enchantment was though...

I'm just looking for suggestions. As we are third level, we get may have any item up to 1350 GP in value. If we wamt something more expensive, we can wait.

Twilight is in the BOED. Maybe, The Sorceress (my wife) doesn't like the flavor, though.
Psi will probably get a Deep Crystal Warhammer, thanks.
Is there any sword I can actually get now with this? Aside from normal masterwork sword, I mean. Special Materials?
The Dragon Shaman is tough, i'll admit.
Bard is wierd, (just like my sister in law, who playas her) magic instrument, maybe? Which one.

It is important to note that these items are upgradeable, though. With only the application of GP and ceremony, The PC's may add whatever properties they like. :D

I think the sorcerer could benefit from:
Bracers of Armor
Hand of the Mage
Cloak of Resistance (Vest in CA)

Without breaking out a lot of other books I can't give ya too much. You could get any sword, I'd ask my DM which might be a better idea, most are willing to tell you if you'll face hordes of undead, or outsiders, (silver vs cold iron)

Feel free to jsut look through the SRD.

An old sage. Elminster or Mordenkainen come to mind. Tenser and Bigby are good second choices.

Don't call them old relics to their faces, but their very handy to have.
