I'm sure someone with more supplemental materials than I will correct me, but to my knowledge this has nothing to do with formulas or costs. It has to do with the type of material or enchantments. If you are wanting to improve the dex on a particular type of armor, there are some materials in the A&EG that might be useful to you. Elven Darkleaf and Leafweave (I think) increase the dex of an armor type by +1 and make it lighter as well. Probably not the exact answer you were after. Maybe someone else will be more help. Good luck. |

Taking a mithral Chainshirt or breastplate to the next level, would craftsmanship of this caliber have a cost associated with it that could be applied to all armors in a particular range. Eg. Light armor +2 1000gp, +4 3000 gp, +6 9000 gp Med... Heavy... |

I know for a fact it's in Dragons #302, 312, and 324, as part of the write-up for the War of the Spider Queen NPCs in Forgotten Realms. I forget exactly how it goes, but I think it ups the max dex bonus by +2, and reduces the armor check penalty by 1. I don't remember cost or any of the particulars, or what source it was originally published in, aside from the magazines. Don't quote me 100%, but if you ask around, I'm sure someone can point you towards the exact limitations of the ability, and what source its originally from. Hope that helps. |
