Are tehre any rules for WW1 type aircraft? I'd like something where skills and feats can improve the way it flies and maybe there'd be variations on skills like Hide (Hide Aircraft using cloued, the sun, the enemies blindspots etc...).

Is there anything already published in that line?

Try the D20 Historical supplement, from D20 Modern. It's got a picture of a Red Dragon fighting a Sopwith Camel in it somewhere.

It is a cool picture.

I'll look up the D20 historical

Are they skills based or feat based or both? I'd like feat chains that add maneuvers and stuff. Also since these are pretty early aircraft (even earlier than the spitfire in the picture) they'd might need Str checks for some manuovers (like pulling out of a dive).

Okay so I looked up the d20 modern stuff.

Here's some rules I thought I'd add:

the Skill Pilot is used to fly planes in general but I'm going to treat planes kinda like weapons - so there are Simple (recreational aircraft) Martial (fighters) and Exotic (zepellins, Triplanes, gyrocopters, gliders and weird stuff). To fly a plane you need the correct feat but you use the Skill Pilot like ride to actually make maneuvers.

I also thought of using some of the Monster Feats like:

Wingover (PrQ min 10 Ranks Pilot)

Flyby Attack PrQ min 5 ranks pilot

As well as:

Dodge Flak (add +1 AC to an aircraft you pilot) PrQ 10 ranks pilot

Maybe some feats from other sources for flyers? The Draconomican springs to mind. Let me know any feat ideas you might have.

Other skills:

Hide Aircraft (using clouds, the sun or enemies blind spots) I guess this should be a skill trick for Pilot.

Cruise skill trick for Pilot - by cutting the engine and gliding you can fly silently for a limited time (depends on plane)

Fighters can take pilot feats as bonus feats. I was also thinking of having airborne rangers with a custom plane instead of an animal companion and a flying style.

This is for the Wyverns and Biplanes Campaign on the Campaigns boards by the way.
