After going through numerous spellbooks in his early stages of magic, Happy Icewind discovered the wonders of Boccob's Blessed Spellbook.

He was thrilled with the marvelous piece of art, until he learned that the book was considered a delicacy by a certain type of ants.
He bought another set of these small wonders and, with great effort, replaced his many spellbooks.
As his powers kept growing, his need for multiple books also grew until he was consistently carrying around two or three books -- and still not having all of his spells around (especially when others "borrowed" his spellbooks without returning them).

One day, while he was studying his precious books (having them spread all over the ground), an ambush struck in the form of a fireball. He survived the attack, his books did not. After losing all of his spells yet again, he consulted his master if he would have anything better. And, indeed, he did have.

The main purpose of the Book is to store a large number of spells, sorted according to the owner's desire, written on pages made from the lining of a Purple Worm's mouth. Others browsing through the Book have difficulties finding the right spell while the Book's owner finds the right spell by simply opening it. The Book accepts spells up to total of 100 of spell levels and this amount can be increased by a simple ritual.

The Book, measuring 12" high, 6" wide and only 2" thick, is made of stone that changes colour according to its owner's alignment. Black as night for evil, silver as for neutral, and snow white for good. Its surface pattern also changes according to its owner's alignment, having a solid, polished reflecting face if the owner is Lawful, soft and warm (but still solid) for Neutral owners, and for Chaotic owners the face looks like rain trapped within the stone -- you can almost feel the chaos swirling inside. The ownership of the book can be simply given to new person by the old one. Book that has no owner (as in, the owner is no longer alive) has a surface that has all of the three colors and the pattern changes slowly to one end to the another. Ownership of a book that has no owner can be accuared by simply placing Arcane Mark on it.

The Book is very durable, with traps against unauthorized use. The Book does not radiate magic when observed with Detect Magic, but is treated as a magic item when counting the number of magical auras in an area.

Powers of the Book:
Peacefull moment
When the book is opened, the book starts to levitate and opener and the book are surrounded by Otiluke's Resilient Sphere until the book is closed.
Blood for Pages
The owner must have the spell in memory or on a scroll in his hand to place it within the Book. He can increases the page count by sacrifacing 20 experience points per page and spill his own blood on the book for one hit point per level of the spell of being copied. The blood soaks into the page and the copied spell disappears from the memory or from the scroll it is been copied. After the last drop of blood is sucked in to the book, new pages grow to the book containing the new spell, written in blood. Any spell added in this way cannot be erased, short of destroying the whole book. Spells copied to it normally can be erased.
Watertight
The book is completely watertight when closed. If the pages do get wet, the text is only blurred but not lost and preparation time while the pages are blurred is doubled. Spells and pages added by the Blood for Pages never get blurry nor can they be washed away.
Hard-bound
The book is resistant to damage, with resistance 12 against any kind of elemental damage, and otherwise having a hardness of 5 with 15 Hit Points. The pages are made from smooth mucous membrane of a Purple Worm's mouth, thus it is still a bit poisonous keeping vermins and insects at bay.
For your eyes only
For each spell that is studied or prepared from the book by someone else than the owner, or a person bearing the owner's personal sigil or rune, the user of the book is called for a Will save (DC 16). On a failed save, the studier is affected by Backlash. Note that there is no limit how many Backlashes a person can have on her.
Yours is Yours
When a spell is copied from the book by someone else than the owner, or a person bearing the owner's personal sigil or rune, the Books pattern sifts a bit and feels warm for a short moment. The copier is thereby hit by Enervation making him feel tired from copying spells.

I dislike the idea that Aura strength depends on the spells inside the book.

Spells themselves are non-magical and a normal spell book radiates no magic whatever. They can not be dispelled, and continue to be visible and studyable, even in an Anti-Magic Field.

Boccob's book is a magic item, so it's aura is set by the creation of the book, because it is the book that is magical, not the spells written in it.

So should yours be set.

If you like there are other ways to store spells check out Complet Arcane You can tatto them on you, you can carve them in your staff, sling stone sized objects.

Also look at Geometer from the same book by 2nd level in this class even 9th level spells can be made on One page worth of space.

And a single Blesed Book can hold all your spells.

If you like there are other ways to store spells check out Complet ArcaneYes, i know.
You can tatto them on you, you can carve them in your staff, sling stone sized objects.I think you are mixing alternative ways to scribe scrolls and spellbooks.
Also look at Geometer from the same book by 2nd level in this class even 9th level spells can be made on One page worth of space....maybe but im still not looking for alternative ways to store spells. This is creation of my own that i wanted to share.
And a single Blesed Book can hold all your spells.A wizard can fill the 1,000 pages of a blessed book with spells without paying the 100 gp per page material cost.500 levels is not same as all.
Also if you reed the intro, you might notice that BBB is not something im happy with.
