| WebJiCi11-09-07, 07:36 PM | Does anyone have weapon statistics for a weapon similar to the one in "Heavenly Sword" ? I was thinking something like this: - a swift action to switch styles - chain spools hidden in blades - both blades can be locked up to make a single weapon - 1d6/x2 plus 10-15ft. reach, light weapon - 1d8/x2, one-handed weapon (these blades look massive) - 2d6/x2, two-handed weapon |

Not as bad as the response to 300 though. I am a hypocrite though, since I bought an issue of Dragon for the chocobo article. Aaah, delicious irony. Anyway. I have not played the game (nor am I likely to), so you should not expect this to be faithful to its inspiration. I will also be ripping off the rod of lordly might pretty thoroughly. Heavenly Sword This weapon is identical to a +4 greatsword in its normal form. However, a wielder can mentally command the weapon to switch forms (this requires an action equivalent to drawing a weapon). The weapon has two alternate forms: Two +1 keen longswords. A single +3 mighty cleaving glaive. The wielder is considered nonproficient with these forms (even if she is proficient with the weapon in question) until she takes the Exotic Weapon Proficiency(Heavenly Sword), although a user immediately becomes aware of its ability to change form once she has used it to damage an enemy. If its wielder puts the weapon down (or is disarmed of any part of the weapon) it reverts to its normal form, wherever the dropped weapon would be. Strong evocation and transmutation; CL 15th; Craft Magic Arms and Armor, divine power, keen edge; Price 45,000 gp. |

However, since I based the weapon off of the rod of lordly might (in fact, I have yet to adjust the price of the thing), and it has more forms it can take but only requires spells used by its special abilities. |
